Sometimes, a book is SO good that you think there is no way the movie will live up to the book. Right? The Twilight movies were a pretty decent rendition, especially by the end of the series. The movies did an outstanding job of bringing the Harry Potter books to life, and I liked the adaptation of The Hunger Games too. I'm also looking forward to Catching Fire, but that's a post for another day. But the recently released Beautiful Creatures? Not my favorite. Love the books, but the movie just didn't cut it for me. Now I absolutely love The Mortal Instrument series by Cassandra Clare, and evidently, I am not alone! The City of Bones movie is expected to release August 21. I am hopeful that this will live up to my expectations. Check out the trailer below and see what you think!
As the new library media specialist, I am looking forward to an exciting year at the Hot Springs Middle School. I thought I'd start by telling you a little about myself. One of the reasons I became a library media specialist is that I LOVE reading. In particular, I love reading Young Adult books. Sharing about the great books I have read is one of my favorite things to do! I also enjoy learning new things. I think it is important to continue to learn as we grow - to be a life-long learner. I like the challenge of learning something new, which is probably why I like technology. Technology is always changing - New devices, new apps, new ways of doing things. Life is a little like technology...always changing! Besides a new job, a big change in my life this year is that I became a NANA! I have a grandson, Brody, who was born in February, to my daughter Courtney & her husband Matt. My husband and I have been married for almost 25 years, and we have three daughters, two of which are grown and married. Our youngest daughter, Lanee, is 12. Kati, my middle daughter, is expecting our 2nd grand baby next February. I look forward to seeing you in the library this year. It's going to be a great year!
